This year’s Tong Sri Mueng Festival (I apologize for the romaji and the late posting) in Udon Thani was as crowded as walking the streets of Hong Kong elbow to elbow. The parade featured many colorful floats and dancers in costume. But what everyone was waiting for came at the end of the parade. It was the Chinese Dragon Dance and the Chinese Lion Dance well worth waiting for. The Chinese Opera Dancers also were a big hit. This year I think there were three Chinese groups participating in the parade.
After the parade it was off to the Udon Thani State Fair. Thai food and drink was available everywhere whenever you got tired and needed a break from all the shopping and games. This is an excellent time every year for the children to enjoy the State Fair.
